@Vincent Le Moign To be honest, I don't think I've ever seen an icon set with 1600 icons before :) Pictos has around 600 icons I believe with shape files. You are right that it would not be usable with 1600 icons, but they could possibly be broken down into multiple shape files and then I just load the ones that I need.
For design in Photoshop, it just allows me to use vector shapes and scale them accordingly instead of having to open up individual PNG files for the given size that I need. No worries though, I'll figure out how to take them from Illustrator instead!
